The Waystation, April 2026

Ok, prepare. A lot of news incoming.

As you know, I've returned from my pilgrimage to the Holy Bodhgaya. Rejoice! We've accomplished our aims, and we are going to send a formal request to open Losar under the Bodhi Tree next year!

This is HUGE. It's the first time a non-asian school of Buddhism has been accepted to do this. You're probably aware of this, since I made an announcement here.

We need to have a order-of-magnitude number of participants before April 15th.

If you'd like to participate on this historical occasion, please sign up here.

Besides this, the pilgrimage was full of visions and experiences. We have recieved five (5!) new Upadeshas, one which we will start teaching tomorrow Saturday. I will unpack everything for you in the coming months.

And this brings us to the second part of this month's news.

We have grown. A lot.

From the time, seven years ago, that we started the Kula until this moment, when we're invited to the holiest place in Buddhism, a lot has changed.

We went from being two Lamas to ten Lamas.

We have travelled all over the world.

New teachers and Lamas are bringing our Kula from places like Singapur to Connecticut.

Therefore, it's both normal and healthy that things change.

We are going to chage the scheme of the Mara Roasts. So far, it was feasible to do one per year. We would meet, practice and so forth. But we have grown so wide that it's very difficult to travel all over the world. Someone in Sikkim has very little chance to go to Rio, to practice and meet.

What we're going to do, starting from this year, is having several Mara Roasts, more geographically situated. What do I mean? We can have one in the U.S., so people there can meet. One in Europe. One in Asia. One in South America. One in Africa, etc.

That way, while you will meet less people from around the world that if you would have travelled to one of the yearly ones, the chances to meet the Lamas and practice together is greater.

We will still do massive, international Mara Roasts. But we feel that, in the last few ones more people were left out that could come. And I truly understand this, having just stepped down from 50 hours of connecting flights. The time and resources that it takes to do so are massive, and only a privileged few amongst us can do it.

And we are against anything that doesn't include all beings.

So, starting from now, please feel free to reach to the Lamas to request a Mara Roast for your group. It might now be in your city or even your country, but we'll do our best to go near you to practice. And now that we're a lot of Lamas, there's a lot more Dharma too!

I hope you're as excited as myself for this. Personally, I can't wait to meet with you.

And we also have a lot of activities this month!

Let me get the usual out of the way.

As always — if you contribute, we channel it directly towards keeping the teachings flowing: Zoom infrastructure, translations, translations, center maintenance… the invisible engine behind the Dharma.

Now, onto the activities!
